This year, the ice hockey player Matt Hussey visited our school. The class FOS 11aT had the honour to talk to him for one lesson. In this short time we gained a lot of information about him and his profession.
Of course the pupils were interested in Matt´s career. He has been playing for more than eight different clubs since 1998. To the question whether he thinks that the Tigers will finish tenth (i.e. they can stay in DEL) at the end of the season, he answered that he hoped for it but that he definitely couldn´t say for sure at this time of the season.
He told us about his spare time activities and his preference for German, especially Bavarian, beer. If anybody wants to meet him on the weekend, he should visit Straubing´s nightspots such as the disco “Stars” or the “Roxy”.
But also the private life of a professional ice hockey player is noteworthy. He was born 1979 on the 28th of May in New Haven, Connecticut. Since he was four, he´s loved playing ice hockey. He told us about his life starting with elementary school, his years in high school and his enlistment at the Pittsburgh Penguins.
